How To Get Free Website Traffic – And In This Economy We All Could Use A Lot More Free Stuff!

These days everyone I know seems to being trying to run their business on a
tight budget and keeping and maintaining your websites traffic for most people
is very expensive, and not as productive as they would like.
So How does one go about getting Free Website Traffic?
When it comes to generating free traffic to your website it may not require
the money that paid advertising does, but it still requires something of value.
And that is your time, energy, and letting your creative juices flow.
I will start off with one of my favorite Free strategies:
Building links for your site is a great way for building website traffic. Just
contact similar sites that are in your “Niche” market(because it is all about
building relevant links)ask the owner if he/she would be willing to add your
sites link to there site in exchange for you doing that same for them. It will
help to increase website traffic for both parties.
I caution you when it comes to using automated systems for building links to
your site. You should always know where your marketing is coming from so that
you can take the necessary actions to improve and maintain its overall success.
The other reason is many times your links can get “broken” through the
automated system which ends up making that link useless. But if you understand
that going in then you know what to expect and can handle the situation
accordingly.
Testing our your writing skills is another great way of building quality links
to your site. More time consuming and more challenging than the previous
strategy. But along with the more time spent the greater the reward when it
comes to utilizing this strategies.
The search engines not only care about how many relevant links you have but how
many “quality” relevant links your site has. Not all links are considered equal.
So spend a little time doing research on what sites rank highly in the search
engines eyes and do what it takes to get a link back to your site from theirs.
A great place to start building quality links is Article Sites, Directory Sites,
Trade Associations, and really any other website that is considered to be in
your niche market. Go after those links on a consistent basis and it will pay
off huge in the long run.
Now lets focus on SEO.
Everyone talks about it but very few people understand SEO (Search Engine
Optimization) It is not always considered a “Free” strategy. There are big
companies out there that you can pay big bucks to that will be more than
willing to optimize your site for you.
However, it goes back to what I stated earlier. If you are willing to spend a
little bit of your time instead of your money, this to can be and is a “Free”
strategy. Simply focus on supplying quality “keyword rich” content to your site
and keep building those back links.
It is also very important to focus on a “niche” keyword rather than focus on a
main keyword. I build my traffic around a principal I learned years ago.
“Market to where your customers are and where your competitors aren’t.” Most
people who market online are all competing for the same traffic. Be original and
spend some time researching your keywords that are less competitive
and start using that keyword or keyword phrase to start writing and posting
keyword rich content.
Example:
Internet Traffic: Extremely Competitive Keyword phrase.
Increasing Your Website Traffic: Not nearly as competitive.
Now obviously using a less competitive keyword or keyword phrase means less
people are searching for what you are offering using that particular phrase.
Not all the time… Some times you can find a diamond in the rough) So the trick
here is to build your keyword list “broad” and not necisarrily deep. This means
it is all about building quantity to your list of keywords. Takes time, but
once again saves a ton of money in the long run.
Last but not least good Old fashioned Networking.
Building a network of people, or some like to call it their tribe, is still a
very effective way to go about generating free traffic. There are a number of
places to get this accomplished. But the fastest and best way to do it is by
simply joining an Online Forum Group or Website. It is truly a great way to
network and develope relationships with people who can then refer their contacts
to your and what it is that you are offering. A side benefit to this is you
will pick up new and innovative strategies and tips that you then can
implement on your own site.
Now in the year 2009 the best places to build networking and relationships is
through social media. Twitter, Facebook, Mayspace, YouTube, and many more are
essential pieces to your online success in this ever changing technical world.
Get to know these sites and start out simple and slow. But keep in mind it is
extremely important that if you attempt to build relationships using Social
Media always come from a place of offering value to those you are connected.
Do Not Spam these sites.
Free website traffic is easier than one my think. It just requires the one thing
that most of us seem to lack, and that is patience. You implement these
strategies and apply patience to give them time to work you will eliminate
the majority of your competition.
